Assume we're talking about some Aleutian island in the southern reaches of Alaska.

The answers to this should be interesting.

On the one hand, it would be an attack on American soil ...
on the other, no lives were lost or even in danger.

What say you?

Well first off NK wouldn't because under international law that (firing weapons into another nation's territory with the intent of causing loss of life, property damage or intimidation)is an act of war as is assassinating foreign leaders tyrant or no.

NK would be doomed because the world would cut off all supplies to NK and the people are starving as it is plus we wouldn't have to China would use the excuse to invade NK for being an unstabling influence and add them to their list of new properties and to scare the beejeezus out of Taiwan.

NK is not about to attack the US they need us more than we need them and other Asian nations would put a major smackdown on NK because they need the US's trade.

Kim Jong is just a barking Chia Pet trying to rally his people to hate a common enemy when he's the worst thing they have to worry about. NK does not have the capability to mass produce nuclear weapons like the US has and NK would not benefit from selling nukes to terrorists because those same terrorists would eventually use them against NK.

The US could turn NK into a cinder with one missle whereas NK only has the ability to hit the pacific coast at best.

Unless they crash another missle into the Sea of Japan.

Why should America kill all the inncocent. Just kill the dictator and leave. Let them kill each other. Eventually there will be another dictator. We should take care of him like the person before.

Who was the genius who sent troops to Iraq? All these things could have been done with drones or spy operatives.

I seem to remember america testing nukes some years ago,

in the country,
underground,
underwater,
and on islands.....

I don't see the difference if a different country does it,
seems hypocritical to me...
( of course, I don't think humans should have build those kinda weapons to start with...)

NORTH KOREA IS RUN BY AN ABSOLUTE NUTJOB. DON'T FORGET THE FACT THAT HE IS HOLDING HIS PEOPLE PRISONER AND IT IS ALSO A COMMUNIST COUNTRY.

LET'S ASK SOUTH KOREANS WHAT THEY THINK?

I SAY WE NUKE THEM FIRST, AND CALL IT A SPASMIC FINGER TWICH OF THE LITTLE RED BUTTON KEEPER. THERE IS A REASON EVERY SINGLE PARTY IN THE U.N. HAS EXPRESSED SANCTIONS ON THEM OVER THE TESTING.

Personally we should not engage a country with
nuclear capabilities right now. We need to remove
those capabilities as peacefully as possible. I also think we need to heighten security just in case.

As President Bush says, we will diplomatically try to stop the nonsense but if we are pushed then war will happen.
I believe that if it indeed was nuclear or not they are trying us and we need to respond accordingly.
