I guess I was asking this question out of ignorance.

I live in Tempe and have never been to the parades. Every time they show one on the news it looks more like a angry protest rally with hundreds of people walking down the street than an actual parade.

Not sure what you are talkign about. I knwo I road a horse in my cities gay pride event back in 2005. I was Mr KGRA 2005 (Kansas Gay Rodeo Assoc) back then.

What are you talking about?I have seen horses and floats in many of the pride parades nation wide.In fact floats are usually what half those marching are in or around. And as far as horses, I have seen everything from the gay rodeo riding their stallions to openly gay police officers riding their police horses. And by riding, so as not to allow for puns, they are traditionally on the horse, dressed, "riding" the horse in the sense of travel.

Hello, Because there is a big party right after... Where are we going to tie up the horsey's? We just ditch the floats, park the Harley's and head into the dance tents.. We deal with the clean up the following day over bloody Mary's

We have floats and horses in our parades here in St Louis. And I know they had them in the Dallas and OKC pride parades!

Oh great, Tracer is in St. Louis too.

As far as the question is concerned, could it be because the events are arranged on a very modest budget and without extensive planning.

You need to move - most pride parades have floats and horses - come to Albuquerque... we have cowboys on horses in our parade!

PETA would hate it.

West Virginia back wood boys would love it.

Most of us would like to share this image with North Korean leader as the pride of our democracy.

Hey high five.
