if this will be your first bike then you would be a FOOL to get a sportbike. you should learn to ride before you start racing and worrying about girls staring at you. there will be plenty of people staring at you when you are laying dead on the road because you went and bought way too much bike for yourself. take a class. take 10 classes. all the class will do for you is make the driving test for your moto license exempt and and it gives you the skills you need to become a good rider with practice. youd do best with getting a small bike(youll take a class on a 250 or 500cc) get yourself a 500 .....honestly man we dont need inexperienced riders on the road. school kids is bad enough and the roads already full of blue collar cruisers who dont know how to ride either. i ride on these roads too and i drive my daughter around when im not on my bike. the last thing i need is some newbie causing an accident that could hurt my child or my wife because the newbie was busy trying to race cars and get chicks to look at him.LEARN TO RIDE FIRST BEFORE YOU TURN YOURSELF INTO A STAISTIC. or ruin someones life. you dont seem to concerned with your own safety at this point

There's a reason the insurance is $3,600 a year, or more than a third of the purchase price. Allstate's statisticians think you have a one in three chance of totalling it in the first year you own it.

A 600 cc sportbike is, compared to virtually any street car, brutally fast and very unforgiving. It's easy to accidentally bump the throttle and pop a wheelie, or grab too much brake and drop it.

I'd suggest starting on a bike that's easier to ride. There's a decent selection of sportbikes on the market in the 500 cc and under class that are much cheaper to buy, much cheaper to insure, and a lot easier for a newbie rider to control. And a 500 will have plenty of power for commuting, keeping up with highway traffic, and attacking twisty back roads.

The F4i is a good bike. Be very careful in selecting the right one, as usually, second-hand sportbikes may have been abused. Honda has a reputation of building good quality motorcycles though.

Don't forget that bikes are a higher risk, both in terms of insurance and personal safety. Don't do crazy stuff which will give us all a bad reputation. Get quality protective gear and ride safely. Racing cars will only get you to the hospital...or worse.

Ride safe!

Here is a quarter mile time for the 2001 Honda CBR600F4i:
10.75 @ 127.09 and a top speed of 157mph. That's very impressive so you should understand this bike is intended for experienced riders only.
