An Executive Assistant, is a senior secretary/assistant that works for a high-level executive. CEO, President, etc. She is a gate-keeper for her boss. She keeps track of his calendar, meetings, etc. She makes sure only those individuals that have a "need" to see him, get by her.

She coordinates meetings, makes travel arrangements, and manages busy calendars. She answers telephones, composes, letters, faxes, memoranda, sends email on behalf of her boss

It is a position for the "very organized." There is a lot of calendaring involved Travel arrangements may be part of the job. Must be comfortable with calendar management, planning off-site and in-house meetings.

Professional business wardrobe, as one will have frequent contact with high-level executives, communicate in person and by telephone those individuals.

Excellent writing skills. The executive assistant wears many hats including running personal errands, for him, and often for his wife.

If you are interviewing for the position, make sure that you ask what is required of you if you get the position.
