It depends on the baby. I had to try a different formula a couple times. My son refused it completely, and by his face I guess it was simply because he hated the different taste. But as far as health reasons, there should be no problem if you need to switch brands. It's just up to the baby whether he/she will drink it or not!

We switched our son to the Carnation Healthy Start from Enfamil at about 4 weeks old. He was so gassy from the Enfamil. I just used a 50/50 mix of the two formulas for about a week and then went straight to the Carnation without any issues. Really helped out Chance's little tummy getting him off Enfamil.

I wouldn't recommend it. We always used Similac Lactosfree and my fiance picked up Parents Choice brand one time on his way home from work because they were all out of our brand. My son had the worst belly ache and screamed for hours after being on this formula for 2 days. He got constipated too. I would rather drive around looking for our brand then ever substiting anything else again.
You may have better luck but with my little guy (4 months) he only gets the brand he is used to!

My son (three months old) had no problem with it whatsoever. It all depends on what store I go to, to which formula I get. As long as you get the ones that have the same thing in them. I am not at home right now, so i dont remember what the one I get has in it...something like ADA or AHA...something to that effect, lol.
but no, it never hurt him and I have been doing that for quite some time. He doesnt even recognize the difference.

My experience has been this: Without asking the doc:: switching BRANDS of the same type formula does not make much difference. Changing the FORM (powdered, concentrated, ready to feed) can make signinficant changes in gassiness (Powdered produced the most gas in my babies).
You SHOULD ask the doc before changing the TYPE (regular w/lipids, regular, soy, predigested etc)

My son had a lot of problems when we changed his formula. Try to stick with the same formula if you can. The only formula my son didn't have problems with was the Baby's Only Organic Soy formula.

What I did was mix the old formula with the new formula. This way they will not really know the difference.
This is what my doctor suggested we do and it worked fine.
Hope this helps you.

I know that when you change it is supposed to be a slow transition because there are differences in formula. I would just make sure to always have your normal one stocked. You dont want to chance it with a little one.

yes switch up formula can cause a problem you need to stick with one brand you find the brand that works best with your baby and stick with it, from my experience my babys both sufered anytime I switched their formula it takes time for them to get use to the new kind
