Hi i know this is the wrong place to be askin this question but it is a female prob. but i would think some of u might know about this and i really wanted to know if anybody had this happen to them before i get to the doctor 2morrow. i am really scared, im only 19 and this is just alot for me to be going through in one year.
Ok in Feb. i had a abnormal Pap Test(HPV) so i had to get a Colposcopy ann Biopsy in Mar. that came back showing that i had alot of Dysplasia(abnormal cells)on my cervix so i had to get the Leep surgery done in April and that the wrost pain ever and i never want to go through that again. Now i went to the doc. about 3 weeks ago for a Pap Test and it was abnormal again now i have to get another Colposcopy and Biopsy. Is it normal to have another pap test like that after the surgry to take the prob. away so soon? and should i get he Leep surgery done again? and will mess up my chances of having a child soon?
thank you to u all who answer this question.

First, take a deep breath, and relax.....

At age 16 I found out that I too had abnormal cell growth on my ovary, and cervix. At the time, I was told that my chances of having children would be slim to none. I was offered the surgical procedure to have the "cysts" removed, but opted not to, believing that this ordeal was all part of God's plan.

5 years later at age 21, I became pregnant with my first child (born Sept. 12th , weighing 6lbs 11oz), and now I am pregnant with my second child (due Dec 23rd). Periodically I have a biopsy to confirm that these abnormal cells have not turned cancerous, and each time I am relieved with the diagnosis.

I guess sometimes "we women" are just built a little differently than others. Just make sure you take your folic acid, and try to get a really good multi-vitamin (one with Omega 3) and you'll be fine.

Stay Faithful in God,and he'll always deliver :)

God Bless you & I wish you the best of luck with your journey to parenthood :)

In 1999, I had been TTC for just over a year and went to my GYN for a checkup who found that I had abnormal cells on my cervix and scheduled a LEEP. I waited the 6 weeks after the procedure before having sex and BAM!! a month later found out I was almost 5 wks pregnant!!! my little girl is now 6. I have heard conflicting stories aboout whether or not this was just coincidence with the timing but I dont think it was. As far as needing 2 done one right after the other, I would get a second opinion. Good Luck!!

I think you should get a second opinion from a DIFFERENT gynecologist before you have any more invasive testing, such as a biopsy. Get a referral from a major hospital or go to a doctor affiliated with a hospital and be sure to go to a different doctor that is not affiliated with the one you already saw.

Also ask that you be cultured to see if you have been exposed to human papilloma virus, which is a common sexually transmitted disease, that often causes no symptoms but can cause abnormal dysplasia on your Pap test.

Good luck.

wow..i am suprised you had this reaction so quickly. usually HPV takes a while to manifest to the point where a lazer burning is necessary. depending on how long you have been sexually active. it is highly possible they did not lazer all of the cancer causing cells from your cervix. and it may be working it's way past your cervix. but yes someone did mention seeing another doctor.
here's where it gets tricky. this procedure causes the cervix to not produce the necessary lubrication (depending on how much cervix was lazered off) to assist the spem in reaching the destination. so getting pregnant is harder once this procedure is done. so talk to your doctor about your child bearing plans. there maybe something they can do to help. it is still possible to get pregnant, but it may or may not be just a bit harder. and theoretically, surgical implantation might be the answer to help get those sperm past the cervix.

hope this helps.

I had the same thing happen a few year ago and went through the exact same procedures and I am pregnant now so the chances are good that you can conceive after all this but maybe get a second opinion from another dr since the same thing keep coming back and see what other options are out there.I was also given a strong antibiotic not jusy peel. cut burn and freeze procedure....good luck

i can tell you from my own experience as a teenager. the same thing happened to me. i ended up with many biopies being done before my PAPS were totally normal. i'm not really sure what caused them, but they did eventually clear up with really often visits to my ob/gyn. now as a 33 year old woman, i'm fine with the PAPS and pregnant with twins. between then and now, i did have a couple of miscarriages, but i can't say the procedures are what caused them, there was no explanations. good luck to you and please by all means CALL YOUR GYN and ask questions, they're there to help you.

//edit//
i just found this on the condition, something i didnt know.
Cases of cervical dysplasia may advance during pregnancy, but treatment can generally be deferred until after delivery
A biopsy to diagnose cervical dysplasia is safe to perform during pregnancy
Treatment with cervical conization may adversely affect fertility
again, i urge you to call your ob/gyn

I don't know alot about this kind of thing, but I'll give it my best shot. It doesn't seem likely that it would come back after 2 surgeries, but you never know. It just depends on how much was there and how much they removed during the last 2 surgeries. I'm sure your doctor is doing everything he can, and I'm sure that if it was going to mess up your chances of having a child he would have told you. Good luck and God bless. I'll keep you in my prayers! :-)

I has the same thing happen to me, and so did my sister. She had two leeps done and everything is fine. I had one leep done and I am pregnant right now with my second child. My doctor said sometimes it takes two leeps to get rid of everything. I know those leeps don't feel good. But what I can say is talk with your doctor and see what he or she tells you. I hope what I said kinda make you feel better.
