In terms of stress on your car, 10 miles of city driving is equivalent to about how many miles of highway driving? I am just looking for a rough estimate. Thanks!

well i would chose motorways all the time.. unless they are blocked up with some plonker turning a truk over or something,

but in miles then id say 10 miles city is equivelant to about 40miles motorway,

motorways are much much better on the car, tyre wear is less as your just going at a constant speed and not having to brake hard or accelerat hard, the cluch is saved!!! no stop starts, and ultimatly, the biggest thing is that the engine is much less stressed and will last a hell of a lot longer, if i went to buy a car, 1 were a ford mondeo with 90,000 on the clocks but had been used all its life on motorways, or a ford mondeo witch had done 30,000 but had been used around town, i would chose the 90,000 as the 30,000 would ahve more wear on the engine than the motorway car!!

hope that helps
