Depends if you want to follow the comic books or not. Bruce Wayne is a brooder and Michael Keaton was the best brooder all them all. The first two Batman's had the right feel with Tim Burton, it's not Val Kilmer's fault Joel "I killed Batman" Schumacher decided to come in and add color and ruin what is supposed to be a depressing city. Val Kilmer was OK but he was too happy for the part. But damn if I can't watch him in Tombstone over and over again. That was definately HIS movie.

No, Christian Bale was the best Batman, followed closely by Michael Keaton. Thankfully for u Val Kilmer isn't last, that honour goes to George Clooney.

I completely disagree.

Michael Keaton was, is and will always be The Batman.

However, I'm glad that Val Kilmer was Mad Martigan and not John Cusack. And I appreciate everything Val did for Doc Holiday.

I think that Christian Bale and Michael Keaton were both great as Batman. However, when comes to Val Kilmer, he was awful. However, I don't know if he was worse than George Clooney.

I'm not a fan of Georgie at all, but he was a good Batman. Unfortunately he was in a crap Batman sequel. Christian Bale is the best I've seen. Always thought Buster Keaton would have made a better villain than hero. Tim Burton was obviously impressed by Keatons' old b/w movies, hanging from clocks, skyscrapers and fast moving steam trains.

Val Kilmer is second place. Christian Bale captured the obsessive characteristic of Bats and had a better director. Joel Schumacher stick to set decoration and musicals and leve the brooding superheroes to their fans who direct.

Looking forward to the sequel as Batman is reborn into what he really is. The brooding dangerous avenger not the quirky campy lamer Joel turned him into.

The same thing is being done to James Bond. The whole Bond storyline is starting over.

He was sh*it! And Christian Bale was good until he got in the Bat suit, he just couldn't pull it off (the acting i mean lol).
Michael Keaton was and always will be the best Batman... Batman and Batman returns are the best of the Batman films, the rest are crap.
Now if Michael Keaton was in Batman Begins that would have been an awesome film!!

I forgot about George Clooney... He was absolutely sh*t.

No I'm going with George Clooney. I think that he made the best Batman. I think the worst was Michael Keaton. I just never could picture him as Batman. He was too much of a comedian for me.

You are absolutely correct... IF he was supposed to be what Batman would be like in a Universe where Batman was a homosexual. It wasn't his fault, the director was garbage.

The official title of Best Batman goes to Micheal Keaton, but he was replaced when Christian Bale freaking owned it in Batman Begins.
