If your mother is deceased (or if you have power of attorney) then you should be able to get a copy of her taxes for last year. They would have been filed and will help in finding out who knows where the paperwork is.

These forms have to filed with the gov. Inquire at the courthouse to get a copy or ask the lawyer's office who set it up.
