None Of Them. You Seem To Be Angry At Christianity For Some Reason. Anyways I'm More Concerned About "The christian God or other Gods just dont make any sense" Even Though All Those Options Deal With Only Some Of The Gods Based On Religions. 1) Falls Apart Once You Consider Satan Or HaSatan Isn't Really Evil But A Tempter Of Faith And Promoter Of Faith (Judaism) Or If Satan Or HaSatan Doesn't Really Exist And Is A Metaphor For Evil/Human Nature (Bahai Faith) 2) Falls Apart Once You Consider You Have Control Over Your Own Life And Really You Should Just Grow Up And Learn To Deal With The Cards You Were Dealt. 3) Assuming God Is Real. Falls Apart When You Consider That God Hears Our Prays But Doesn't Need To Answer It, Or Maybe God Does Answer It But With A Different One That Expected. Or Maybe Some Deists Are Right When They Believe That There Is A God But His Only Purpose Is To Create And Just Leave Us Alone Or Maybe Pantheists Are Right When They Say We Are Gods In A larger Realm Of A God.

What springs to my mind is the fact that I'm turning away from both friends and family in an effort to start over. I'm entertaining homelessness, but I'm also embracing the concept of new beginnings, un-hindered by the concerns I'm compelled to express for those I love. My opinion is not valid in their eyes..so I do not expect validity from anywhere else. Do we have a choice in friendships? Yes...but deception can take a long time to interpret. Do we have a choice how, where, or into which family we are born? No..unfortunately we do not....God brings us into life for a reason...and He created man for a purpose only he can determine. As individuals, we have to assume our position with open arms as well as an open mind. Right and wrong are two conflicting entities that we, as humans..must learn to seperate.

I have family scattered around the country but I rarely talk to them. As I work from home, I have my best friend who checks Im still alive. Families aren't what they used to be thats for sure, and this is a subject close to my heart. I set up a website for people who don't have a family. www.lwfnetwork.com The LWF stands for Living Without Family.

Its true you're born into your family because of genetics and a natural process you can't choose who will be your family but your friends you can decide if a person is worthy of being your friend. Sometimes we wish we had a different family because of problems that may come but no matter what they will always be family and you'll have blood ties to them.

What springs to mind is how true it is, and how I wish it were the other way around. God gave me my family as punishment for doing something VERY wrong in a past life, obviously!

that statement rings so true indeed: family is flesh and blood; they are part of us and we are part of them. we cannot choose who ought to be our mother, father, sisters, brothers, uncles, cousins etc, it just doesn't work like that. whereas with friends, we can choose who our mates are. we can choose to hang out with and become friends with them, because its a choice we are entitled to make. family on the other hand, has a more personal significance by means we don't have that luxury; in fact, if we lose our friends, who else could we turn to but our family members. though the same applies with friends and the roles being reversed.

How lucky I am, both in friends and family. My family pulls together when there is need, no matter what is going on between members. And the friends I have picked are there for me too.
As opposed to my "sister" who has a horrible, unsupportive family she was born into. Now she has a family that helps and supports cause we "adopted" her and her kids. So for her it would be her life in a nutshell.

I think this is very true !
I am fortunate to have a wonderful family, of course there are one or two things that could be changed, but they are wonderful.
However, This was luck. But my close friends are almost as close, maybe even closer in some ways. And of course we do chose them. I think it one of the most apt of phrases!

I would NEVER have friends like the wackos in my family. I had an uncle that used to call the White House everytime he got drunk (which was often). I still haven't figured out how I ever got a Top Secret security clearance when I was in the Army. And he's just one example!

im much closer to some of my friends than i am my own sister.
I love all my immediete family to bits but i have no feelings for the ones i never see.
I think you can love your friends as much as family.
But i wouldnt know what to do if i lost any members of my family (immediate).
I suppose the phrase means you cant do anything about the way your family is but you can try and sort stuff out and make better with friends.
