Concur with the Butterman-if you have to have the p*rn handy to get off, then there could be a problem, but if you can do it without and use it as a means to an end (no pun intended), then you should not worry about addiction. If you haven't gone blind by now, then you have survived all the myths of jo.

This is like psychological addiction, there are many treatments for impotence other than masterbation, you should consult a doctor, do proper investigations and get the correct treatment, you might say you are not addicted now, but with time it will turn into real psychological addiction cuz you simply know that it relieves pain.

Many people masturbate multiple times a day and would not be considered addicted. Generally, addiction to masturbation (if such a things exists, many experts disagree) is a coping skill that is over-crowding your life. Are you masturbating instead of going to work or school? Can you finish a meal without thinking about masturbating? These types of question you need to ask yourself. Porn and Masturbation Addiction is a hot topic in the media lately. Many people are being "diagnosed" by pop-psychology even though they really do not have the condition. Please do not fall into this trap.

I am not certain about your medical condition. If your doctor prescribed this treatment, I would continue it until you discuss discontinuing it with your doctor.

Porn and masturbation can be a healthy part of your sexuality.

Porn does not supply a real looking representation of what a typical intercourse existence is. not even close. the challenge is that as quickly as observing those issues, you start to think of that's generic. once you do get right into a typical sexual dating with somebody, you would be dissatisfied that your companion does not carry out like a porn massive call in the mattress room. not something in actual existence will evaluate to the way it looks in the porn video clips, you will have outfitted up a fable which will on no account ensue. As for masturbation, it somewhat is generic as lengthy as not taken to extra.

It all depends, since p*rn addiction is not yet recognised as an "official" form of addiction ... yet...

I would have to say that it becomes an addiction when it becomes NECESSARY for you to get off... Like a daily fix to enable you to get yourself going. I would have to say that THAT is the point where it becomes an addiction.

However, if you think you can find stimulation elsewhere, or if you can get excited and turned on without the visual stuimuli of p*rn material, then I would say you aren't addicted. Of course, all of this is open for debate.

I myself "have to" watch p*rn everyday also (for proffesional reasons). I wouldn't say I am addicted to it for that reason alone, however the fact that it has become part of my everyday life, intergrated into my daily routine, may make it seem like an addiction to most others, who are unaware of my reasons for such a daily consumption.

If you NEED p*rn to get off, yes you have a problem. If you can do without, then I'd say you've got it under control. However, it is a fine line we walk on the subject, and since your own consumption of p*rn is to facilitate recovery for a medical reason (I never thought I would live to see the day...) then it may be considered a non-addictive form of pro-active medicinal use.

(I can only imagine the doctor giving out prescriptions for p*rn DVDs! : "OK, 1 x *ss Worship, 2 x Flesh Hunter, and call me in the morning!")

However serious the matter of p*rn addiction is, it is still not treated with seriousness in the medical community. My own 1/2 brother "G" was addicted to p*rn videos before the days of DVDs and the internet... His addiction only multiplied and intensified once the internet became a household item...

I myself would have to say that on some levels, I am a bonafide addict of p*rn*graphy, for OTHER reasons than listed above. But I consider my addiction to the stuff more of an "obsessive/compulsive" disorder since I seem only interested in collecting p*rn material which contains specific performers. Pretty much all other "standard" or "readily available" material just comes off as a waste of product in my opinion... Let's just say alot of p*rn distributors are fascinated by the knowledge I have in terms of the availability of products, and recognize that I am by no means a "regular" consumer (i.e. a typical consumer would purchase DVDs for the cover, or the acts included inside, or for the big-name stars like Jenna Jameson for example).

However, I do try to keep myself in check all the time because I clearly remember a time in the past when I myself was deffinatly addicted to the stuff, cutting off of work to go get my filthy paws on a magazine or VHS tape before anyone else... The worst part in this is the fact I was aware of the addiction, and yet could not control myself!

So in YOUR case, I would worry simply if you feel you absolutly need to consume p*rn to get yourself off... Think of it like a gambling problem: are you ready to bet your own car or house for another round?

Let's see what others have to say about this rather important part of the american psyche...

If this is what you have to do medically to relieve pain I doubt if it is an addiction. Isn't there any kind of surgery to relieve the problem?
