Dont' say GET RID Of......TRANSITION her off the bottle and onto sippy cups......

For me this is what I did which might work for you too......
and you can also try the AVENT sippy cups becuz they have a soft spout compared to other sippy cups.

I breastfed my daughter till she was one.....and when I introduced whole milk to her she took it after awhile........and she didn't like the bottle so it took forever to get her to finish one bottle.......And same thing as yours...she didn't know how to drink from the sippy cup unless I held it for her.....didn't know how to tip it up so she can get the milk. I even tried to give it to her in a cup which she could drink from but was very messy......

Then someone had told me that breastfed babies can drink with a straw faster than babies who were solely bottle fed.

So I got one of those little rubbermaid drink things with the straw inside from Walmart......and she took it......! and I could squeeze it to get her to drink more milk then just sipping it.
She still drinks from this with her water.......and I got her some first year cups with straws and cover on it and she drinks all her milk from there.

She should have been on a sippy cup about 2 or 3 months ago. By age one they are supposed to be weaned off the bottle. To get her weaned put something like pain water in a bottle when she wants one and the good stuff in a sippy cup to encourage the sippy cup.

I took my son off the bottle before he was 1 year old because he was fine with the sippy cup. I didn't even do it slowly over time I just took them away one day and just gave him a sippy cup. There are different ways to do it so just pick one method that you like and try it out if it doesn't work go on to the next. Good Luck!

I have a five, four and three year old. The best advise I ever got I never took into consideration until my third child and realized I should've done it with my other two. I was told to take their bottles away on or shortly after their first birthday. I didn't with the first and she was on it until 21/2. My second was on the bottle until two and the day my third turned one I took it away and gave him a sip cup. I had no complaints from my third at all. I think the longer they're on the bottle the more attached they get. Try substituting the bottle with a new toy for bed time. It worked for me. Good Luck.

This may seem mean to some but we just went cold turkey. On my daughters 1 st birthday we threw all the bottles away. So it was not an option to give her one when she got fussy. She did just fine and drank from the sippy cup. My 8month old is already drinking from a Nubby sippy cup sold at Wal-Mart. She may not even have to wait until she is a year old.

My daughter was completely off at 16 months. Usually when they start with regular milk you try putting it in a cup, like during meals, so they get used to the idea. Gradually use more drinks out of a cup instead of the bottle.

my nutritionist recommended by 18 months. My daughter is 18 months, and we are still not totally weaned. I know you said that she wants nothing to do with a sippie, but try this. Go to wal-mart, and there is a particular type of sippie cup. It is not a no-drip. it's spout is completely open, so you will not want to let baby have it on her own. Then you can slowly get her onto a no-drip type. That is what I did with my daughter. Incidentally, the nutritionist does not reccommend a no-drip because of the suction required to drink from it. I didn't listen.

I got rid of my daughters bottles when she was 15 months. We went cold turkey and it worked best for her. I bought the trainer sippy cups (the ones with the soft spout). Anyway I just recently moved her up to the regular hard spout sippy cups; she'll be 2 in November.

Wean now. Pediatricians say no baba after 1. Is she on a sippy cup yet? Just give it to her more often and the bottle only at night, slowly make the bottle smaller.

start now. docs says not over 8 months. Give her the sippy cup and don't let the bottle be an option. She may cry and fuse but she is not going to let herself dehydrate. When she gets thirsty enough, she will drink from the sippy cup. Just stick with it and don't do any back steps.
