I whole-heartedly agree with you!! I adore music ranging from the 18th century (for Mozart, Bach and all of the other great classical geniuses) to the 30's and finally all the way through to the 90's, in jazz, Latin jazz, pop, R & B-- everything! Everything excluding rap, hiphop or heavy/metal rock. Basically, the majority junk of today. Anyway, better stick to the REAL music of the past (Beatles, anyone?) with meaningful lyrics (sorry Shakira) and a true want of doing music, not just any trash to gain big bucks (sorry again, to rappers). Even when the music and its artist is highly more appreciable than the previous losers I've mentioned (think 'Corinne Bailey Rae'), it's not nearly as remarkable as before. I mean, all of the "artists" of now are only copying styles of before or mixing it with their own, erm, work. What good is it. Nada. So go with the your blasts of the past and enjoy. Period.

I grew up with music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's so I am with ya. I do like some of todays music though.
I love the Oldies Music!

When money is the motivating factor, garbage is what is going to come out. That why music today sucks. If somebody like James Taylor, Pink Floyd or Earth Wind & Fire were to come out today, they would have be dropped from the label before their 3rd album. No act is allowed to grow anymore, you have to strike on your 2nd album or that's it. Music is so compromised for money only that true artists will have a really hard time to come to the light.

I agree that this stuff is bad, but it started going bad since the 90s.
It's a generational thing, I guess.

Im with ya hun. Most of todays music lacks creativity and meaning. I am a musician, and my thought is..."IF you cant feel it, then I aint playin it"
I am an 80's junkie to, so There ya go:)..."For those about to rock....we salute you"

With a few exceptions, count me in.
Today's music is just repetitive fluff by posers. I can't tell one band from the other.
