Eating with someone other than your significant other and trying to get to know them better can be treading in dangerous waters. I don't think it's grounds for cheating, but an affair can easily brew from spending more and more time with this person, especially if he's trying to meet with this person to get away from his wife.
If he's insistant that he's not cheating on his wife, encourage him that he should prove it by inviting him/her over to make friends with his wife too.

Tell him to ask his wife this question, and let her know thats what he's been doing. Then he should have a clear idea if its cheating or not! I wish my husband was disrepectful and stupid enough to come home with some other womens nasty pussy on his breath are u ******* KIDDING ME!!
