I know it is my fault, but I got divorced when she was a tiny baby. I was scared, and let her sleep with me. Now I may be getting married again soon, but she refuses to sleep in her bedroom. What do I do?

Tell her that sleeping in her own roomis what is going to happen starting on this day... and HOLD TO IT.

She'll cry. She'll fuss. Tell her that standard punishment will apply if she's disruptive at bedtime.

Above all - DO NOT GIVE IN and DO NOT COMPROMISE.

Remember, YOU are the parent, not her. You direct, she obeys - period.

I went throught the same thing you are.

What you have to do is be firm but loving. If she gets out of the bed or throws a fit, shut the door and close it.

If she cries... you have to be strong and not go in the room. Tell her to be quiet and go to sleep...You're just outside the room so don't be afraid.

Be strong... and don't back down. It might be a couple of nights of screaming and bawling... but she'll get the idea and soon not fight you on it.

Try making bedtime speical with a story or prayer.

Good luck!

This is more your problem than hers. Any person with a child knows that you have to show stability. If you want her to sleep in her bed, this may sound mean but put her there. Don;t give in when she tries to come back. Make it fun by creating a chart with stickers for every night she sleeps by herself and reward her after seven stickers. Before you know it she will be in her all 7 days. Remember be strong and don't let the tears get you. You have to stay firm for her sake.

I extremely have six toddlers. I extremely have been down this street many situations. i understand how ordinary it is to pull her into mattress once you're very drained, yet that is going to be the biggest here. we've had the superb fulfillment with putting the newborn lower back to mattress at contemporary, each and every time she gets up. it is tough, it is not ordinary, and it is by using no means a rapid answer, in spite of if it is the superb one we've got here across. in case you supply in and pull her into mattress with you, it is going to set you lower back some weeks by way of fact she would be in a position to wish you will do it lower back. yet another suggestion could be to ask her why she comprises your mattress? i understand two-a million/2 looks youthful, yet once you're affected person and continual in asking you're able to be taught her motivation. Does she prefer a evening easy? A crammed toy for secure practices? A drink? Reassurance that Mommy remains interior reach? attempt to get to the basis of the concern and be adamant approximately her not drowsing on your mattress. specially, do not punish her. She comes for a reason, not by way of fact she is naughty. superb of success to you.

It's definitely NOT going to happen in one night. Children are persistent, therefore, you must be even more so. You will lose some sleep for a few nights, but in the end, it will be well worth it.

I don't know what you can do, but I feel your pain. I can't get my 7 yr old daughter to sleep in her room either.
