It's fairly common. But you should find something besides mt dew, as it has caffeine, which just stresses you more.

Find a non-caf drink.

People react to stress in different ways. The most common are either an increase in food or a decrease in food, so to your question, Yes, it is normal. Maybe not the same food/drink combination, but increase of eating and/or drinking is very common when stressed out. Some people are grabbing for the chocolate when they are stressed, others grab for a booze bottle.... Like you, i drink a lot of mt dew when stressed out...and I eat a lot of pasta....

I have the same problem, for me it is Cookies and Coke. It is self destructive and I am trying to change. I have no idea if this
is normal. Don't beat up on yourself, that will make the stress worse. I have no idea if this is true, but someone told me that Mountain Dew has five times as much Caffeine as Coca Cola.Just
hope you don't have high Blood pressure, you may be in trouble with your health. Get some relaxation tapes.

No. Normal would be to eat a lot of Burgers and drink a lot of Coke. I prefer a nice dog myself, but you just can't find this in America, only the Philippines.

Yeah its normal to have a way we "deal"....there r more healthy ways...but I find that I cook too when I am stressed. But I try to take my time and cook something wonderful and really make the calorie intake worth it. Otherwise try walking or writing or painting as a realease too. Those also help. Good Luck!

It depends. For some people it's pretty normal. When I get stressed I become more tight lipped, and don't want to eat at all, whereas one of my colleague's just can't stop eating. I think it really depends on the person.

Stress when eased by a substance is not a good thing. What you need to do is discover your stressors and then learn how to deal with them without abusing a substance. There are many books about stress and how to deal with it. There are books on stress relief and how to handle stress, these usually help you find your stressor and get you to work through it.

You shouldn't binge. Eat the pizza but in moderation - order a small veggie pizza instead of a extra large deluxe with extra cheese. Yes - lots of water is always good, and fruit is always good for you.

No. It is an eating disorder. You are medicating yourself with food. You could be doing serious damage to your health. See a psychologist about your food addiction. They will help you discover the source of your anxiety and better coping skills.
