I dont think I would do it right after Christmas people may be so broke and not come because they cant get you anything I would do it a couple of weeks before Christmas if you like the thought of a December wedding I seen one around this time of year and it was very pretty they done Christmas colers and alot of candles and it was very nice and it snowed and they done a horse and buggy so that made it even more beautiful I wish you all of the luck I was marred Labor Day weekend this year and we had an ok turnout but alot of people went out of town so keep this in mind keep it as stress free as possible trust me!!! Plus will you have the money right after Christmas to do the kind of wedding you have really dreamed of your whole life?

I would say no because , you get married on Dec 31 and the very next day you enter into a different year ,you wouldn't have time think what happened last year becoz for you year completed in one year and if you look at it in a different view why do you want to get married on Dec 31 which already has an importance and also people are busy home with their preparations, you would have quite a less number of people turning up every year on you marriage and the marriage anniversary's, why dint you want it to be on a different date and that people remember the date becoz you got married on that day only ad not becoz that's is Dec 31 and incidental your marriage day

I wouldn't choose it for the following reasons (yes, I have reasons): :)
1) Too cold
2) Just after Christmas and that is one busy time of the year! You'll be exhausted from the Christmas stuff and then you've got to gear up again.
3) It's on New Years so that means you're making people spend their new years at your wedding - not right.

I would disgree on the "coolness" of a New Year's eve wedding. The only thing cool about that will be the weather. No offense, but the last place I would want to be is at a wedding on New Years Eve. I mean, forcing bridesmaids and groomsmen to be at your wedding at one of the biggest nights of the year? Plus, traveling could be an issue for those that have to travel to you. i don't know. i would rsvp "no" and send a gift. Sorry.

Yes and no. Having a wedding so close to too many holidays makes it rough not only on yourselves, but your guest too!
People spend a lot of money between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.
When most people get married they usually think about their guests availability to show up. So if I were you I would rethink this and pick a date that would be comparable to all.

Yes, December 31 sounds like a cool date but December 24 would be nicer. You both would be getting very nice Christmas presents ( each other ) and you'd get to spend your first Christmas as man and wife, It sounds very romantic to me.
By now ,I guess your wedding is already planned and I wish a long life of, love and happiness to each of you.
You just brought a little christmas spirit to my heart.
Thank You.

Eh. So so. I'd personally want my own wedding date, one that I didn't have to share with another holiday. Everything is going to be jam-packed on Dec 31 so going out for a romantic dinner will be crowded, and you're still coming down from Christmas.

Personally I wouldn't like it because of the closeness to Christmas, but on the other hand it would be romantic. It is your wedding so you should go with whatever you and your fiance agree on. I wish you the best!

hmmmmmmmmmmm...... well let me say first off congrads to the both of you. well as for the date i was married the first go around on that date and now since2 year passed i am divorced to the guy and remarried to someone else... that date will forever haunt me for the rest of my life... i can never get it out of my head everytime newyears comes. my advice is to just ramdomly pick a date... besides it won't be as special when you have to celabrate your big day with a holiday... good luck!
