Mapquest doesn't have a feature like this. I just want to pick the route myself to see how long it would be.

Mapquest will work, you just have to piece it together...put in city 1 to city 2, then 2 to city 3, etc., and add the totals.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I use www.mapquest.com - it gives you a map, route directions and a listing of the mileage and time it will take to drive it

Yahoo is better than Mapquest.
Yahoo has all you need to plan for a route.
