Buy a new valve. They're easy to install and not very expensive.

Replace the turn on/off valve that is located between the floor and the tank. Turn off the water at the main valve where it comes in from the street. Have something to catch water and take out the valve. Then I would have a second person - and attach a hose to the pipe coming out of the floor and have the second person hold it over the sink or tub or out the window while you turn on the main valve and flush the line. Then shut the main off, put on the new valve and attach the line back to the commode and turn that valve on. Then go back and turn on the main valve. This keeps the grit and blockage from getting in the new valve and should solve your problem.

Usually, a slow filling toilet is a sign that it has a water saving valve on the water line. normally you can adjust the water pressure on the waterline that comes into the bottom or back of the toilet.....if you look down in the tank, the water line that comes incould be stopped up with residue...check that as well. Hope this helps.

Water pressure in the house ok ? You may need to replace the water fill valve--buy a fluidmaster replacement--under $10--not really too hard to install.

Sounds like the guts are shot. You need to get a replacement from the hardware store and install it the same way you take the old one out.

I would replace that bubble looking thing. (Sorry I don't know any terms) But in the mean time I would just shake the hande and the running sound kinda stops in a short minute
