I found sleeping on my side with lots of pillows best for me.

The doctors and the books I have read suggest sleep on a side preferably your left side with a body pillow of just a pillow on each side so you don't roll on you back. They say sleeping for long periods of time on you back is not good because the circulation of the umbilical cord can get shut off.

I asked my Dr. that, and he said sleep however I am comfortable. I tried to sleep on my side, but I always woke up on my back, even if I sandwiched myself in between pillows. He told me that once it gets to the point where I shouldn't sleep on my back, I will wake up because it is so uncomfortable. I am 24 weeks pregnant now and I haven't had any problems.

When I was pregnant my Dr. told me to sleep on my side after the first 3 months. you can't really hurt the baby in any position, but it is best to sleep on the right side because most of your organs are to the left. Sleeping on your back puts pressure on your lungs and blatter at about 6 months. It can't hurt you, it's just uncomfortable.

the only way i am comfortable is sleeping on my left side with a pillow propped under my stomach. to help circulation my dr told me not to sleep on my back because the baby and i would have better circulation. if i sleep on my right side, which is where the baby seems to prefer to stay in my stomach, i feel like i am squishing her.
good luck

Left side with lots of pillows. A large body pillow is nice. It made me sleep better when I was pregnant, especially if my feet where up.

They say on your left side is the best way to sleep. You obviously can't sleep on your stomach, and sleeping on your back and/or right side puts pressure on (I think) your inferior vena cava, a major blood vessel which can decrease blood flow to you and to the placenta.

Sleeping on your left side is best during pregnancy as it is best for the baby's circulation

You may want to sleep on your side...on your back isn't good, because it puts pressure on your insides because of the weight you are carrying. For added comfort, you can add a body pillow, that helps. You'll want to be comfortable, because you need your rest!
