The big issue for me is the Democrats bragging that they will raise taxes on us working people.
IT'S OUR MONEY, NOT THE DEMOCRATS' MONEY.

Immigration is the key issue but TV doesn't like to talk about what talk radio has already revealed to be the issue. Guess those corporate sponsorships (aka commercials) may drop if the problems involving illegals are televised.
The economy is doing quite well and those who have been paying attention know this. National Security is still an issue but with no terrorist attacks on US soil since 2001 this will only become an issue if the threat happens again. You could say it will happen if the democrats are elected but that actually remains to be seen. If the Dems in power now really wanted to get rid of the entire patriot act they could but they know it works and aren't apt to make radical changes to it.

Immigration and national security are the most important issues to me. I live in a Congressional district that's safely Republican, so my vote for the candidate will be a vote for the status quo, which admittedly hasn't been that impressive. Having said that, there's nothing the Democratic challenger has said that gives me any confidence that he plans to deal with the issues competently.
I miss Reagan.

If we control immigration the country will be more secure.More
jobs would be available at higher wages. the welfare rolls lowered.
Would vote for a candidate that has the same views as mine.
Some people lie ,others try to be honest.Time will tell who has
been truthful. I will study all information then vote and pray for
the best man or woman to win.

Illegal alien issue and national security are my two big issues. The economy is doing very well, so I have no complaints there. I don't go by what they say in their speech. I research their record. Their actions tell it all. Like Mel Martinez trying to pretend he for all Americans when he was one of the authors for the amnesty for illegals. Well Mel, you got my vote once, I won't make that mistake again.

The most inportant issue for me is this: Can the party in charge be trusted to do the best job they were hired to do. So far the answer is NO. They don't have the countrys best interest at heart. All they care about is covering their *** and keeping their seat. The other issues you listed are sub-issues to me. If I can't trust them to do the best they can,I can't trust them on any other issues.

Iraq is the most important issue overall to me.
Personally, I'd like to see some universal healthcare, but I'm not holding my breath.
Congress this session if the Democrats win will be useless, as the Republican Pres will veto and the Senate will be gridlocked.
