Clinton was in office from 1993-2001, and the majority of his budgets were in defecit. It was the "one off" impact of rapid technology growth that accounted for the surpluses. Clinton had nothing to do with them. As for the Bush deficit, he inherited a recession when he took office, which was made worse by 9/11. The economy is now growing and tax revenues -- even with the cuts -- are soaring. Bad news, Dems, but this matters much more to Americans than fat Denny Hastert does.

Your funny, lets see they run the deficit so that it's more than all the other ones added together then tell how great they are because they've lowered it to a 4 year low.
O by the way spirit Clinton has a surplus remember!
Private - you can't have it both ways, Clinton was in office and we have a surplus why that's a different subject.
Bush has run up a greater deficit than all the others together, it happen while he was pres 911 had an impact of course but spending 500 billion on Iraq with a tax cut is why he's been there 6 YEARS it's his doing don't blame others.

There is no such thing as a Budget Surplus. When the government takes in more in taxes than it spends that is over taxing the people. The only right thing to do in that case is to refund to the people the full amount of over taxation. If the government is in deficit that means it is spending to much. The only right thing to do in that case is to cut spending. All of the other arguments are just partisan BS.

Wow...build a huge deficit from a surplus, trim it a little and then brag how great you are doing. Your balls must be huge, and your brain tiny.
Your "facts" are so far from the truth they need a telescope to see it. American economy has been crap for six years. You did not inherit a recession. Market hit record high few days ago because IT HASN"T MOVED IN 6 YEARS. Shrub is the first president since the depression to lose jobs in his first four years of office. Yeah, your doing a hell of a job. How's your war going?

What universe are you in? The budget deficit is not at a 4-year low. They want you to think that since they exclude the cost of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and most of the military costs associated with them (try to find what the cost of replacing just the bullets being used in Iraq will be over the next year).

the democrats are responsible for taking all our money just so the government could have a surplus for the democrats to spend {they did not think republicans would win} while the people are in a repression.I would rather have a deficit than a repression.

Yes, good news.
The Deficit is going down.
Just like Bush predicted. Even faster.
Great news for our robust economy.
If liberals ever want to go to work, now is a good time to get a job.

Gee, let us see? When the Demorats were in power, it was tax and spend, with a high deffict. And they didn't have 9/11 or Katrina. Now, even with all the stuff that has hit the fan in the past two years, it is lower? Yep, it must be us.
