as a child i liked zippy and george best followed by bungle. i liked the animals more than the humans. i thought geoffrey was a spoilsport and rod, jane and freddy were just plain annoying (like the nosey neighbours).
but then rainbow finished so i watched rod jane and freddies programme when i sometimes came home for lunch. i still remember their wobbly song (its a wobble obble obbly song/for every wobble obble obbly one/ and the children will all dance and sing/every wobble obbly day long). sad i know - but i must have got a secret kick out of it somehow.
as i grew older i came to suspect geoffrey and bungles intentions towards each other. and wondered who on earth jane wanted to get with as the men were all clearly willing. the difference between childhood innocence and twisted teenage scepticism!
also had my schoolfriends make up a song about me and a male teacher to the tune of: "down in the jungle, zippy and bungle wanted to have some fun. bungle got silly ... "i wont go into the rest as it is too awful for any true rainbow fan.

I liked George the pink hippo very funny but my fav has to be zippy I loved when he got on people's nerves when talking and they zipped his mouth closed as a child it made me laugh a lot.
Coinsidence I am actually listening to the theme from Rainbow on my computer as I write this.
