In the last couple months one side of my tongue has swelled and after 3 to 4 hours it goes down. This has happened 3 times, never always the same side. Also yesterday the right side of my upper lip swelled. I think it has something to do with allergies but I am unable to find a common reason why.

I would keep track of everything you eat for two weeks. Keep track of when your tongue swells. Maybe you can find the problem. It sounds like a reaction. It may not be anything you have eaten though. I would suggest seeing a doctor. Good luck.

I'm tempted to call it a rather strange allergy too.

But is there a chance you are actually biting your tongue on the sides? I've done that while under the influence of a rather strong painkiller after getting teeth removed.

It could be an allergy. Try to think of something you have started eating thats new. You should go to a doctor to see why. Good luck.

I would think allegies also. But I also have trouble with my tongue swelling if I am too dehydrated. Or if I have had too much alcohol (pretty much the same thing).

Yes,
I was going to say it sounds like a food allergy.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to keep food diary so you can monitor what makes you feel that way.

Then you can find the culprit!

I also think it has something to do with allergies. I think it is best to go to your doctor and get tested, so you know what you are allergic to and so you know what foods you should avoid.

Good luck.

it sounds like a case of AED (alien egg deposit). Sometime during your sleep, aliens came down from the planet zoltar and deposited a small amount egg secresion..in a few weeks you will feel a bit of pressure in your left eye...just be patient. it too will pass.
