I have pinched nerve from what I can tell it is my femoral nerve. I have been losing strength in my thigh muscle to the point if I bend my knee with too much wieght on my right side I go down like brick. I've taken muscle relaxers, put ice on it, and have taken probably more motrin than i should have and still can't releive the pain. I haven't seen the doctor yet. I'm trying to exhaust every treatment I can think of before I go. I will most likely go friday if i can't heal it myself. If someone has any other advice please let me know. If you are in the medical field and say go to the Doc that is cool too.

See a doctor. My thought see had a pinched nerve, and ended up having to have surgery.

Check here a very effective Sciatica Natural Treatment ( http://cure-sciatica.info )
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

I totally understand your pain....I'm 21 with terrible back/groin pain all (apparently) related to a bulging disc. Light exercises from physical therapy helped a little but the best thing I had done was a spinal epidural. It takes 5 minutes, its very safe at and best of all it's relatively painless. Basically an anesthesiologist injects an anti-inflammatory drug into the disc and it reduces the swelling around the area which makes a world of difference. As far as surgery is concerned, everything I have heard and been told from doctors is that surgery should really be a last resort because the recovery is extremely long and said to be more painful than the actual pain. Not to mention, the risks associated with major surgery as well as the arthritis many people develop after surgical procedures on or near bones. I hope you find a solution that fits! Best of luck to you :)

I get pinched nerves in my neck a lot. I use ice at 800 mg of Motrin too, to a certain extent. What helps me the most is to see my physical therapist. Doctor has never been able to help me. Chiropractor has never been able to help me.
I also have a problem with my hip going out on me. What happens is that a vertebrae in my lower back will misaligned, then my pelvic bone will twist, causing my left hip to raise. Very painful. My physical therapist has given me exercises to do on my own to realign the hips. I just sit in a chair and use resistance on first the outside and then the inside of my legs. I'm not saying this particular exercise will work on your case, I'm just saying that a good physical therapist could really help you.

My mother used to have a pinched nerve in her back. I would have to give her a good massage every night.

You might want to go ahead and see a doctor or chiropractor too.

Good luck!
