This is a HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION. Answer it in a hypothetical context. I had to delete the last one because nobody got it. About two thirds said how much they hate Republicans and the other third said how much they hated Democrats.

What I'm trying to get an idea of is how many people have their own coherent ideology, and how many people blindly cling to a party without even caring why.

For example, I'm voting Democrat this fall (instead of for a third party like I usually would) because I think it's important to get the Republicans out of office before they turn us into a police state.
However, if the Democrats were doing this, then I would vote Republican in a heartbeat, because the Constitution is more important to me than the name of a Party!

Kreevich and Nick F and the guy afterwards too: That was not the question.

Why don't you try reading questions instead of flaming them?
"Why don't you try reading books instead of burning them?" (Dr. Jones Sr.)

I would vote for ANYONE in order to block a party that supports a police state. I consider this to be a patriotic response, because I value my freedom, and yours.

I usually vote 3rd party, but you know I'm voting Blue this time.

Dubya ain't gonna relinquish this Presidency after four years--will be at a heightened state of war, under martial law, and the elections will be postponed through a signing statement.

Don't laugh---what other means to an end is there with this idiots thinking? Our next Democratic president will have thanked W and the boys for all the power---especially when that person uses it to bury the Repulblican Neo-con agenda rather than as a disguise for personal/political/illegal gain!

Maybe if I were convinced that the Republicans really respected the Constitution, but I do not have that assurance. At Cheney's urging, Bush has been ignoring Congressional oversight, statutory restrictions, and trying to extend his power, which is destructive to our system of checks & balances. The majority of Republicans also have the radical conceit that separation of church & state is a "myth" or a Commie plot, and think it is appropriate to use the government as a tool for evangelism. I cannot tolerate this outrage.
