4 ounces of formula every 4 hours may just be all the food she needs at this point in her life. Is she gaining weight and growing? If you haven't tried giving her some solid food yet, try a small amount of infant rice cereal mixed with formula. Just a tablespoon or 2 at first. My youngest daughter has always had an odd appetite. In her first year of life, she would often go hours without eating. Eventually it affected her growth and during the day I had to wake her to eat at least every 4 hours, but during the night I could let her sleep as long as she wanted, usually 10-12 hours. She was just an easy going, non-demanding baby (she's 9 now and doesn't seem to have kept that particular trait!). She still can go several days without eating much and then will have a day when she has seconds on everything then goes back to barely eating for days. It seems to be her way of doing it. She is growing, healthy, and active so her doctor says as long as she is eating healthfully and is growing then let her choose how much her body needs to eat.

When she goes to the doctor you can ask for some advice, but if she isn't hungry just let her be. I have a 12 month old now and I played with her a lot and did a lot of active things like moving her around and playing with balls and after wards she was always ready for a snack I think getting her a little more active might increase her appetite. Again if the doctor isn't worried maybe you shouldn't be. I am sure your six month old is happy and healthy

I don't think you'd want to medically change her appetite - she si too young. If she is gaining weight and is healthy then she should eb fine,. If your doc is worried they will let you know. I would try maybe substituting formula with baby food for a meal or 2 and see if that helps - but at this age most of the baby's nutrients are from the formula and food is still mainly just to get the practice. So i'd talk to the doc but if they aren't concerned then maybe you just have a lite eater :)

At age 6 months, she's old enough for baby food... you mentioned that she doesn't have interest, but have you tried many types? Maybe if you cut back on the number of formula feedings (maybe bottle feed just three or four times a day) , and then suppliment that with many types of baby food, you'll find something that she's excited about and wants to eat. As long as she's healthy and growing, I don't think you have to worry.
Good luck!

Try to feed her when she is wide awake. Some babies are just too sleepy to eat. Be sure you are not rocking her while feeding her as this will encourage her to fall asleep on the bottle. Also, if weight gain is a problem for her, ask your pediatrician whether you should increase her calorie intake. We had to mix powdered infant formula with my son's ready to drink formula so there were twice as many calories per ounce of formula. As long as she is gaining weight appropriately and the pediatrician doesn't seem to be concerned, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

babies go through phases where they hardly eat and then one day they will eat non stop. it fluctuates a lot. my daughter never ate more than 4 oz at a feeding, even when she was almost one year old. ive been told not to force her to eat, just let her eat when shes hungry. my daughter is really small, the 5th percentile for her weight but the doctor told me that is okay for her. so maybe you have nothing to worry about. however i did find that when i gave her vitamins it made her eat more. plus it gives me reassurance that if she doesnt eat all her needed vitamins and minerals in a day, at least the vitamins help. enfamil sells baby vitamins called poly visol. they are liquid and taste nasty but after a few times of giving them to my daughter she tolerates them. maybe try that with your little one.

If she is gaining weight, she is likely fine. However if her weight has dropped, stayed steady for a few weeks or if you are at all concerned talk to the doctor!

when my son was a baby he had no appetite either. offer food/formula on a regular basis and let her eat whatever she's hungry for. as long as she's content and not loosing weight, she will not starve..... good luck

as long as her weight is ok, leave her alone, she'll eat when she's hungry. If the Dr thought she needed medication he'd have given you some to put her on!
