I have pentium D based computer but its slow?

I have @.66 D computer with 945 GNT original Intel Mother Board, 512 DDR2, 160 GB hard Disk, but my system is too slow, wen i use internet its become very slow,plz tell me haow can i solve my pro

i have format my sys and checked viruses there is no any virus and spyware but problim is still.

i have reliance mobile internet connection it means Dial up connection

I think u can do the following steps to check if it works / not but u've to ensure that there will be no problem if u reinstall ur windows.
1. 1st disconnect any internet or any sharing connection
2. Format ur system drive not the whole hard disk only the drive where windows will be installed(u can do it while install windows)
3. Install windows or u can prefer linux. If u install windows xp, without internet it is faster. But after connect to insternet xp goes in hell.
4. After installing windows check that all hardware install preoperly. Sometimes many acpi hardware slow the machine
5. do not install any additional software
6. Now check if the speed is satisfacry or not. If not then check other pcs. Because in my cases I think my pc runs slow but when I look others then I found that its not that like slower but not fill my satisfaction. I expect more.
I think now u can decide urself if it is slower/not.

It could be whats running in the back ground when windows loads, hear is what to do to find out what is, start>run, in the run box type msconfig>enter, a window will appear, look for start up tab and click that, here you will see a list of items, you can disable some start up items by unticking them, do not disable anti virus/antispyware/firewall/Internet connection, you need these to run all the time for obvious reasons, other items can be disabled if your sure they are not needed on start up, also when you have finished there, look for the services tab, and click that, here if you look to the bottom put a tick in the "hide all Microsoft services" you will be left with a list of non Microsoft services running, again do not disable the vital stuff, but have look see what is left, and do the same as you did before, basically the more you can stop from loading, the more memory is freed up, give that a look see if things improve.

Erase all Temp Folder contents
Check size of free space, free space should be about 40% of drive
Check for spyware
Stop all Startup Programs on Windows startup
Find out what programs are running all the time and stop them

Could be a number of things slowing your computer down from viruses to simple (but annoying) spyware...try using Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D bot free downloads from download.com...another suggestion would be adding more RAM to your computer.
