It depends on the power of your router. To get more distance you may need to get an extender. It should tell you on the box.

I took my laptop into the garden, I was about 70 feet away from the router, my signal was still good.
Be warned, people can park up outside your property and "wall Chalk" your router, that is to say use your wireless network and use whatever is connected to it. IE you broadband connection if you haven't secured your router.
I have done that from about 80 feet away.

edit-According to my manual, you can get the signal to go further by having the router higher up!!Mines downstairs at present.

Theoretically with a router extender coupled to another extender and so on you could make the rage as infinite or asa finite as the number of extenders that you could hook up each just within the limit of its range from the preceding one

To be even more pointless if you calculated the range backwards from origin completely around the circumference of the earth then you already have a fantastic range lol

All of the above!!! Check the box, if that fails check the website, if that fails go for a walk about and once you've done all that get some security up and running if you don't already! We've been 3 houses away and it's still worked (about 60 feet).

If varies depending on where you are (inside/outside) and also what type of router...best advice would be to go to your router's company website and find "support or specs" for a general idea of its range.

It should tell you how far it can be in the manual. If you don't have the manual then you can look it up online on google. Type in the make and model of the laptop and it should give you the info you want. Good luck

Go outside, walk 50 paces, if you can't see this then you are out of range, But seriously it depends on your WIFI signal and what type of receiver you have ( PCMCIA card etc.)
