I like a warm burgundy or dark red, or a warm plum--wine colors, really. Even a blushy translucent pink works well. I am anything but feminine, but I do like to polish my nails to cover up stains and surface irregularities that come from daily housewifery... I keep my nails very short (less than 1/4" long) and deep grapey/fruity tones work well with my fair skin.

you should paint em' red, it's cute but not exactly girly girl. Or you could do a color combo like red and orange or silver and white.

I think nice nude tones look great on nails. Soft tans, bronzes, and mocha's are nice.
But, what's also nice to do is to paint your nails clear with a touch of glitter. It's not only pretty, but it's not girly-girl at all.
