We're getting our 2.5 year old dinosaurs for Christmas, and I wanted to make him a roll-up playmat for them- which is fine because I have the fabric. But I also wanted little plastic trees, rocks, bushes, volcanoes, etc. to go along with it. I can't find volcanoes anywhere, and the trees/rocks/bushes belong to expensive train sets (I'm not paying $14 for a plastic tree), or are made of metal. Anyone know of where I can find these things? I'm open to any suggestion, less paper mache.

Try a dollar store, like dollarama, my little boy gets many of his dinosaurs and terrain there, or you may want to try a pet store where they sell aquariums, lots of plastic trees there as well as volcanic rock. Good luck.

They should have what you want in a hobby or a craft store. I just got some trees and shrubs for a diorama at my local shop. Remember that they may not have volcanoes but a little work with a x-ecto knife and paint will get what you want. Another shop you can check out are large fabric and sewing supplies. It is weird what you will find in them. I found a miniature grass mats and shrubs by the foot in one nearby.

Where I live we have a store called, School Tools. They have all of those things. Kids use them in projects at school. Also, we have an exploration park here that has a great gift shop full of those kinds of things in the childrens area. They are sold individually. Hope that helps, Best wishes.

Look in the "cheap" section of a toy store, like ToysRUs. I've often found those along side of the plastic cowboys and indians. Good luck!
