You know...I was wondering the same thing. It seems like everytime I glance at the headlines, I just get depressed. With all this crap going on with the government. It really sucks to know that we are born into a society where other people are in control of whether or not a bomb comes flying at us, not us individually. But then again, some conspiracy theorists would say that the governement is making all of this stuff up to keep people scared. When people are scared they tend to follow the rules more easily, instead of acting out. Plus the election is coming up too, so why not scare the crap out of us right before it. That's what bush did before (in my opinion), and no one wanted to vote against him because of it. So all in all, we have two choices here. 1. We can stop reading the news, or 2. Keep reading all about THIER drama, and let it piss us off.

I only watch it once ot twice a week b/c of the depressing part. The only info I want to know right now is the weather. I do keep up with watching it b/c I don't want to be ignorant.

Initially I quite misunderstood your question...but my answer is going to be the same: Which news? Some is good, some is bad. As to tv, I don't watch it. Images bog it down. Last time I watched it had become editorializing rather than informative.

Because to the media, life is just one giant movie. People love darkness, death, and destruction in the movies, so the news is feeding off of that.

War, death, murder, rape, bombings, gun crime. Not most people's idea of fun, but it's happening all over the place. The newsreaders are pretty rubbish as well.
