I haven't had a period in about a month and half. I have taken two pregnancy tests about two weeks apart and they both turned out to be negative. I have had morning sickness, nausea when I smell certain things, and have been really tired. Could I be pregnant? I called my doctor and he said not to worry because it could be my birth control acting up, however, I haven't taken it in four months. Help PLease!!!

I have just had my thyroid tested last month, and it came back ok. I have been tested for any problems that would be affecting my sleep. I have been testing for any problems with my reproductive system, and nothing came back on that either.

I have been a little hungrier than normal, but not much of a difference.

Women can stop having regular periods for many reasons, including stress and excessive exercise. Your ovaries normally release one egg every month or so, and about 14 days after the egg is released, if it's not fertilised, the inner lining of your uterus sheds and menstruation starts. If your ovaries aren't releasing eggs the way they should, then your uterus may not be receiving all the signals it needs to start your period. Sometimes women have to take medication to help their ovaries and uterus communicate so they can have regular periods. If you miss more than three periods in a row and pregnancy tests are negative, your doctor should give you a thorough examination in case something's wrong. Two possibilities are:

• Thyroid problems. If your thyroid gland (which controls your body's metabolism) isn't working properly, it could interfere with your periods. Other symptoms of a thyroid problem include extreme tiredness, hair loss, weight gain, and a constant feeling of being cold when everyone else is comfortable. A simple blood test will determine whether your thyroid is doing its job; you can correct the condition with medication.

• Too much prolactin. You might miss a period (or more than one) if your brain is producing an abnormally high level of the hormone prolactin. A woman's body usually makes prolactin when she's breastfeeding, which is why menstruation generally stops at this time. If this is what's happening to you, you may notice a milky discharge from your nipples. This condition can usually be treated with medication.

You could be pregnant or you could have the flu or something. The only way to really know if you are pregnant is to have a blood test done at your doctors.

Did you tell the doc that you haven't taken your birth control in 4 months , it is weird that you are still getting negative results , maybe there is something else going on , go get yourself checked out girl.
