If you're a guy, that seems fine because what else are you going to wear? A powder blue suit?
Just wear like a light blue shirt or some other nice, light color instead of white.

Wearing a black suit with a white shirt is fine. Just take off the jacket once you get there and tie a colorful scarf in your hair. The key to dressing for a wedding is just to not attract attention to yourself cuz the bride is the one who is suppose to get the attention. You can basically wear anything except all white or all black.
If you are low on money, seriously, check out a good will thrift shop. You will find a really nice shirt to go with your black skirt/ pants, if you don't want to wear white. You might have to dig for an hour or so, but I promise you will find something nice that works. (It might be from a few seasons ago...but whatever!)

I think a black suit would be nice for a wedding. I would find a different colour shirt to wear to set you apart from the wedding party. Even if you have to wear the white shirt you'll look fine for a wedding. Everyone will be looking at the bride anyway so don't sweat too much about it.

the fact that you are going should say you are okay with it.
the fact that you dont raised your hand when asked if anyone protests the wedding should be enough.
But I dont particuarly know your situation, whether this is a fancy "well to do" wedding or something casual and fairly informal.
I would say why not wear a red and beigh or blue. Not black. Any other color but that. there are a range of colors to choose from. just dont look better than the bride. Even if nature put you on the better end of the spectrum, try to play down your looks. =D
enjoy the wedding!

Black is fine to wear to a wedding.... I just attended one this last saturday and I wore a black dress with a pink blazer over. Wear your black suit, but spice up your shirt color and wear something light blue or something other than white. If ya only have white don't stress, wedding only last a few hours anyway and they shouldn't be paying attention to your clothes unless you are the groom or bride.

I think a black suit is still fitting for a wedding. Maybe brighten it up with a colored shirt or tie. Colors would probably depend on the time of year. Hope this helps. (Plus.... take it from a one time bride.... I didn't notice what ANYONE else was wearing)

It's fine to wear a black and white outfit to a wedding, as long as you aren't wearing all black (too funeral-like) or all white (too bride-like). Go ahead and wear your black suit and white shirt, and if you're a female, just put on some (tasteful) colorful jewelry if you want to add some brightness.

Wearing black and white could be taken as a sign of protest or make you look like part of the catering staff at the reception...
Wear something with some color to it...preferably a different color than the colors selected for the bridesmaids...

If you're a guy, and you're not part of the ushers, I think that suit and white shirt will look totally fine; sophisticated, but yet fine.
But, if it seems too plain for you, try wearing something with more colors; such as khaki pants with a gray washed-down look sweater. Anything that's casual-classy will look great.
If you're a girl, and you're also not part of the bridesmaids or maid of honor, wear something that has vibrant color; such as a baby pink, royal blue red, or a forest green. Also wear something classy like a cute suit (matching blazer and/or skirt and bottoms.) with a nice pair of stilletto heels..and to make the look say "i'm EXPENSIVE.", add a cute designer clutch, like Coach or Gucci.
