Torpoint is a suburb of Plymouth. Plymouth is just across the river Tamer in the county of Devon. It is a major British port where a large Naval base is situated.

Yes, I had a friend at college from Torpoint 10 years ago, I'm originally from Helston in Cornwall.

yes, lived in Cornwall for 15 years and trained as a nurse in nearby Treliske hospital in Truro. Torpoint is where HMS Raliegh is, near Plymouth (which is actually in Devon) in East Cornwall.
