I have a router that has both local IP 192.168.2.1 and external IP (unknown) to me. Cos I lost the paper that came with my fractional T1 line when I installed it. I want to know the external IP address on the router. How do I get this?

Thanks

Well, since your internal IP should be hidden from the internet you could try one of those sites that tests your firewall.
Those sites should only be able to see your external IP and maybe the type browser you're using.

Otherwise, you could just call your ISP that provided your T-1 and they can tell you.

Most routers have a web-based interface to them. If you point your browser to http://192.168.2.1 you should see the router's interface. Once you log in to the interface there is usually a place that shows your public (external) IP address.
