Yippie, a normal question. No, you have every right to do this. BUT, you might want to find out what your partner's problem is. Maybe he is having a horrible day and needs you to cheer him up.

Sometimes when my partner starts yelling at me over the phone, I hang up. But after 4 years, she knows that this is a time-out for the both of us. You see if we are arguing over the phone and we let it go on, one of us will say something that we will regret.

Bad? Maybe, immature, more likely. We have all done it though. Sometimes they just know how to push your buttons and it really pisses you off cuz they're doin it on purpose so bam you hang up and ignore their calls. If you're at that point in an arguement it makes no sense to continue anyways as nothing productive will come out of it. It's probably better for the both of you to cool down and discuss it later.

Well this is a perfect question for me.. Since you know my lady and I are fighting.. This is the very thing I did yesterday. I was frustrated and she pushes my buttons and bam- The phone couldn't hang up faster..... Now do I think it is a bad thing. Yes, I feel that I was very immature when I hung up one her. I felt like a little kid who no one understands... I hate being hung up on and hanging up on someone else is childish... Not one of my proudest moments.

Yes and no. It's rude to hang up on someone but if they are saying hurtful things and yelling and just won't stop I see every right to hang up on them. Make sure to explain why you hung up after things cool down. If they try to call you back right away I wouldn't answer it.

They are not going to like it much that is for sure. Most people have done it though. It is better than shoving a sharp stick in their eye!

It's not very mature but sometimes its better to do that than say things you will both regret later.
