I already wear glasses... and have very long hair.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Most of the ideas, here are for depicting a male nerd. I see, from your avatar that you are female.
The hair idea is great, but I would advise that the braids do something different than normal, such as sticking straight out the sides, kind of "Pipi Longstocking" style, or one to the side, and another out the top. Or make a braid that actually curls into a complete circle.
The masking tape on the glasses idea is good, with a piece wrapped around the nose piece, and another at the corner of the earpiece, as if it is made to repair a break.
If you decide to wear a skirt, make sure you go with a blouse or man's shirt with a pocket. Pocket protector is good, and make sure to OVER fill it with pens and pencils of varioius lengths and colors. You GOTTA carry a large binder under an arm. No book bag, just a binder or two for that especially awkward look.
I think a mid length skirt will work best. Suspender's, of course. You will want to wear extremely clashing stockings, or, better yet, very loose, long men's socks, with a print, if you can get them. It's okay if they fall around your ankles. "Sensible" shoes, no heels. Flatter the better. Brown if the skirt has any color.
(Oh! I hate myself for answering this!) Paint LARGE freckles on your cheeks and nose. Find a pair of large buck teeth. Do not make any attempt to speak clearly around them. Nasal voice, and, for an extra touch, practice a "lateral lisp." That is the one where the esses are prounounced as "sh." As in "Thish ish my shweet baby shishter." (this is tough, because the "sh" sound does not come from the center of the tongue, but, rather, from the side of the tongue and cheek)
Never mind the "done to death" comment. If you pull this off, it will be the BEST nerd ever done. Besides, what could be more nerdish than doing something to death?

U can always braid ur hair into two pony tailes, try wearing huge glasses, keep on smiling and show ur teeth always, wear overalls it might help, wear tight pants that go all the way up to ur stomach!! this might work!! may i ask y u want to dress as a nerd for Halloween??

Put masking tape on your glasses. Get a button down shirt and put a pocket protector in the breast pocket. Pull your pants up really high. Suspenders would be good too.

dont wash ur hair for a little while, just enough to make it greasy. then draw some big pimples on ur nose and cheeks. put tape on the bridge of ur glasses. wear a button up shirt and have a pocket protector. untuck part of it. wear ur pants too high with a belt. make sure they dont reach ur ankles. slump over. breath noisily through ur mouth. wear some shoes with no style and with socks that go to high and dont match ur shoes. carry and armload of books with u.

Put tape on the hose of your glasses. Wear a button up shirt buttoned all the way to the top, pocket protector with pens in it and highwaters.

Can you tape your glasses? Don't use anything too sticky so your won't ruin them.
*Make sure your pants are too short and your socks don't match.
*Pocket protector is a must, with lots of pens!
*Braid your hair into pig tails, but mess them up, put a pencil behind your ear, and if you can get a paper airplane to stick to your hair that would be funny too.
*Get a calculator wrist watch.

hmmm put tape around your glasses, and wear a button up shirt and wear a pocket protector and carry around a box of nerds with you or wear it on your shirt
