I heard these the other day and I was wondering what you thought.
Lake- BOY OR GIRL
Laka ( Lake- AH)- boy or girl
Lakia ( Lake- E- AH) girl
Lakea- ( Lake- AH) boy

A very good friend of mine is named Lakia, but it's pronounced La Key Ah. She is a smart, beautiful young woman that I have been lucky to have found as a friend.
Good luck with the names, I think they are all very pretty.

I dont like any of them for a boy, bodies of water are always addressed in the femenine, as well as the ships that move along them. I think Lake would make a pretty middle name for a girl.

Not necessarily for a boy but I do like the pronouncation of La-key-ah that DJSMOM responded with for a girl. Best of luck to you.

Personally I'm not a fan of any of them. Especially for a male, bodies of water and typically associated with femininity.

Be prepared for you child to be horribly teases in school. Most people won't be able to pronounce it and you have to think about their future and the name game for reusmes and job applications. Regaurdless of their qualifications, they may not get many call backs. Please pick something else.
