the heater will work sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. when i am at a stop it blows nothing but cold air and when i give it gas it will start blowing hot air and sometimes when i give it gas it doesn't blow hot air at all. I thought it would be the heater core but there is not any water leaking from it. I now it is not my knobs. i wonder if it could be a air vent or somthing

Your thermostat is not functioning properly. Change it and your problem should be resolved.

That sounds like the water is not getting to the heater core. Your coolant level may be low or there may be an air 'bubble' in the system.
If you just had your antifreeze changed you should take it back to the person who did the work and get them to 'bleed' the air out of the system, top off the coolant level, and/or check out the cooling system. A fault here can do serious damage to your engine.

Is the temperature gauge interpreting the engine is chilly? if so, replace the thermostat. If not, examine interior the radiator and verify it is packed with coolant (antifreeze). be sure you examine in the radiator using fact if the engine has a bad sufficient antifreeze leak, it won't siphon out of the overflow tank. If the radiator is low, fill it up and take it to a mechanic to have it examined to locate your leak.

you have an air pocket in your system. flush it properly and fill to recommended level. check for leaks. your vehicle wont overheat because its not low enough but will cause coolant flow problems. oh and if you have the orange coolant, flush it good and fill with green, you will thank me later

THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF THIS IS A LOW COOLANT LEVEL
AS YOU INCREASE SPEED THE WATER PUMP WORKS HARDER AND MAY FORCE COOLANT INTO THE HEATER CORE
CHECK THE LEVEL AS FILL AS NEEDED
