No. I believe he considered running for the presidency in 1952 but it fizzled. Dwight Eisenhower won that election and served two terms. General Eisenhower was Supreme Allied Commander in the European Theater during WW2. Perhaps it is Ike you are thinking of.

Are you saying, 'WHAT IF McArthur had become President"? Many people wanted him to run after Truman fired him for insubordination and violating the Commander in Chief's orders during the Korean War. But had McArthur been elected President in 1952, Fascism would have come to America 48 years sooner than it actually did.
