This si a follow up question. I asked a couple weeks ago would you date someone who was positive. i had a friend that was. Well my friend started to date this positive person. They had a few romps in the bed and now the relationship is over. Anyhow......My friend is getting tested today and will tell me soon if he is positive. I asked him why he would be. He is worried he caught it while preforming oral and tasted precum. Does anyone know what his risks are for being positive?

In Spite of the MISINFORMATION Randy enjoys telling others,
the risks are smaller but they are there for contracting HIV through Oral sex, I personally know of a person who got it that way.

Pre-ejaculate does carry the virus in it just like ejaculate, that's why "pulling out" is not an effective method of avoiding HIV. If the person performing oral has any kind of lesions in the mouth, bleeding gums, or any other type of possibly open wound, the possibility of transmission is there. It would be best to tell your friend to not rely on this one test and make sure to schedule another around 2 weeks after this one's results. Most tests have a window anywhere from 2 to six weeks before the virus shows up in they body's system and is able to be detected.

Oral sex is a low-risk activity, but not a zero-risk activity.

There are 3 well documented cases of HIV transmission through receptive oral sex. In each case, the receivers took fluids into their bodies (ejaculate) and also suffered from advanced gum disease. No documented cases of 'pre-***' induced transmission have occurred, although tests have indicated that the HIV is present in pre-***.

Very minimial...less than a 10% chance according to a govt study done in SF with a small number of participants. HIV can be transmitted orally if the person has cuts in his mouth, bleeding gums, etc. to the receiver. WHile giving it would require the giver to have bleeding gums etc.
HIV still remains more likely to be transmitted through vaginal/anal sex.

The likelihood of infection is very low but not non-existent. I have been in the same situation and was fortunately not infected. How long is it since exposure? It takes up to three months for anything to show up. And he/she will need a follow-up test too. Hope he/she is all right.

there are moderate risks for precum ingestion, but more than likely they don't have it unless the condom broke, and it takes like 3-7 days to get the results back, and if there getting tested today, then it'll be a while for the results

You are 700% more likely to get Any STD from anal sex than from any other form of penetrative sex. and you are 1000% more likely to get HIV than any other form of penatrative sex including Oral. I estimate less than 10% and then only if the person reciveing has cuts in his mouth or bleeding gums.
Hope this helps.

They are actually pretty high, unfortunately........ I hope your friend didn't have any small wounds in his mouth at the time..... if he did, then he's f*ucked........

Personally, I wouldn't even share the same glass with someone who I know to be positive, hell I wouldn't even share the same room...... i'm sorry, but I think people who got HIV had it coming, you know damn well you've got to be careful, one thing is getting it thru a transfusion, but it is a whole different ball park if you got it by something you COULD have avoided.

i don't think they have proven whether c_m carries the HIV virus, if your friend has any sores or cuts in his mouth, or if his trick has any cuts on his penis then it is possible, i have a friend that is positivie his wife is positive they got pregneant and the child is negative, so very unclear
