like bush said earlier today that the U.S. has "no intention of attacking" what for U.S was gonna attack North Korea?

The problem with N. Korea having a nuclear bomb is that they could sell it to Al Qaeda and they could use it in their next terrorist attack on the US. The US isn't worried about N. Korea attacking the US with a nuclear weapon they are worried about terrorists attacking the US with a nuke weapon.

I don't have a witty answer, so I'll just make it quick
North Korea threatened war on the US today.
They said that the United States is "hostile" in pressuring them, so they would "have no choice" but to "defend themselves" by physical means.
Yeah Right.
The North Korean leader is a kook! I honestly think that he'll be admitted to an asylum soon- he doesn't think the US will pressure them to not risk destroying the world as we know it??
Conducting a nuclear war would be just plain stupid. The United States has a reputation for being able to defend itself VERY well.

The way the game works is that North Korea acts irrational and blackmails the world for aid. The question is whether they are truly are irrational or not. We have nothing to gain by attacking them. We risk the destruction of South Korea if we did. Kim Il-Jong secures his position as dictator by creating external threats whether they be real or not.

The problem with North Korea started when dumb Jimmy Carter gave them the nuclear technology when he was President. He knew he could trust them to use it only for energy. North Korea is ruled by a power hungry nut. Only China and Japan have the power to diplomatically stop North Korea. They want to deal only with us so they do not offend their neighbors when they again break every commitment they make.

The problem is that Bush went after Iraq, which didn't have weapons of mass destruction, because he was to big of a pusssy to deal with a real threat which was and now is North Korea.
It is kind of like joining the National Guard and failing to fulfill your commitments to the Guard because you just don't want to risk your own life to serve your country.

I would like to see the US put them in their place. Though personally I think an assassination attempt would make a nice message.
