years ago all trade was by sea and the Liverpool docks were the hub of the northwest.Manchester not wanting to miss out on this decided to build the Manchester ship canal in 1894 to compete with Liverpool.
which meant ships no longer had to dock at Liverpool,
with this canal came prosperity to Manchester and decline to Liverpool this rivalry between the two cities has continued since with music and football being the most obvious ones.
Which is why Manchester will always be bigger and better,never mined you scuosers..........calm down........calm down

mancs are from manchester scousers are liverpool theres 40 miles between them, the best way to tell about mancs and scouse is when they are both alone out of their own town in a strange place thy soon become great mates

I"m a Mancunian, and I don"t hate the Scousers. I just wish they would stop stealing my hub caps, and by the way, can they bring the lead back from the local Church roof. The United fans are getting wet on Sunday mornings.

i think you will find scousers and mancs don't hate each other they just hate each others football teams (not everton or city fans)
i have a similar dislike for Preston north end football club being a Blackpool fan

it could also be a football thing...such a beautiful game but causes plenty of rivalry !!
but then everyone would hate mancs coz man united are...

i'm a scouser, and we hate the mancs coz they've got a s*** football team, but still think they're great. but apart from that they're actually quite a nice bunch!

Thats not true,im from manchester and i love scousers,its the man utd fans who hate liverpool,and it all because they have been more successful than them in the past.
