I've never heard of that before. If he is talking about turning the baby, ask him why the heck he wants to fool around with something so potentially risky when the baby isn't even close to being born yet? Or better yet, find a new doctor who doesn't think he need to "manipulate" your pregnancy!

You really should have asked him. But I believe it's when they use their hands to manipulate the babies position. Has he said anything about the baby not being in birthing position? Sometimes they will manually turn it and this can take more then one time and be painful to you.

Your baby is not in position yet...the head pointing down.
They do this kinda manual turning of the baby to get him in the right direction. I never had that done but if it's anything like stripping the cervix be prepared for some pain....but it's good practice of what's to come!!

Is your baby head down yet? Sometimes towards the later stages of pregnancy doctors will manipulate(turn the baby) so that it is head down.
