The earth rotates around the axis and the moves in a verticle axis around the earth, then all the planets in the 'near solar system' revolve around the sun, all on 'what would be called verticle, in relation to the 23 degree tilt of earth.

During the early days of Earth, it spun on its axis perfectly. However, a meteor or asteroid struck the Earth, causing the angle to change.

All planets are tilted to some degree or other, it's a typical action of a gyroscope.
Some say it also could have been ice ages concentrating glaciers near the north pole then melting and repeating over millions of years. The moon may have helped as well. But we're not sure.

All the planets are tilted at different angles. Earth just happens to be tilted 23 degrees. Why? I don't know. I am not sure anybody does. Maybe you could find out!

It was a communist Russian plot in the late 60's and early 70's.
That was a joke told by George Carlin once.
Actually it has to do with Einstein's theorys of E=MC^2 and the fact that the Earth is nothing more than a gyroscope.
