ok im19, i go to college in the next city over. about 3yrs ago i got a drug addiction and got help ect. i broke all contact with all my friends cause they were doing the same thing... i think they stll are. i have a great bf & one friend that lives in the city i go to school in. i just get kinda lonely ya know.... i also get nervous ppl will find out i used to be addicted to drugs and thats why i dont wanna make new friends that live in my town. what do you guys think? please give me advice! thank you

I think the important thing is that you aren't on drugs anymore. Everyone has something in their past, but you move on from it. If someone doesn't want to be your friend because of that, than what kind of friend would they be anyway?

Good for you. When meeting new people you don't need to tell them of your past, we all have one and some are pretty dark. Your young and will look back in 5 years and be proud of who you have become and overcome. We all have had some addiction to something so give yourself a break and don't worry so much about what other people think.

i understand that you don't want people to know but it will be better if you tell them because they will be more upset if you don't tell them and then they find out later and yea it is hard making new friends but you can do it if i was there i would most definitely be your friend!!!!!!!!
