How many unwanted children have you taken into your home and provided for and loved?
It's easy to think of passing a law saying let's not kill any more unborn babies, but come on, there are so many kids in foster homes.
Please be conscious of the big picture.

I would have no problem taking in kids, so I am offended that you would call these children unwanted. First of all, there is a waiting list for babies. The most children that need homes are older and I would have no problem taking the in if I had the resources and room. Kids in foster homes are usually not babies, and they are there in the first place not because they are unwanted, but because the parents aren't fit to take care of them. Abortion should only ever be an emergency decision, not a choice to be made by the mother. It is not her body, it is the baby's.

Yes, Please be conscious of the big picture.

Do you know how difficult it is to adopt in this country?
I've been a foster parent (actually I still am but am childless for the moment). Did you know that almost without exception these kids are afflicted? There is no normalcy even with the more 'regular' kids. They all have huge issues with trust, respect, fairness, and consideration just to name a few characteristics. Furthermore, I've never met a foster parent with a good story; not even those who take in infants. Our last foster child almost cost us our marriage. This child was never abused. He just found himself in the situation because his mother died and he was alone. Too, oftentimes a 'normal' child enters the system, but before s/he is able to be placed with a permanent family, s/he becomes institutionalized and takes on the behavior of others who are "in the system".
I find it strange that in our country everyone has to take tests to finish high school, take tests to finish college, and take tests to drive a car. But, to be a parent, all you need are workable reproductive glands. Shouldn't everyone be requred to take parenting class in middle school and high school? Look at the Big Picture. Oh, BTW, my wife is infertile. Have you ever felt that pain? It would be great to catch someone who is pregnant and do a private adoption. Unfortunately, even after you pay for the mother's expense, the birth mothers or fathers or other blood relatives change their minds. Blood relatives get the priority. Then, you don't get the child and your money is gone.

Did you know that at the very moment of conception an individual DNA is formed? On day 17, that would be before the woman knew she was pregnant, the baby has its own blood supply and blood system? Did you know by 4 weeks after conception, the baby's heart beat can be detected? At 4 weeks, most women are beginning to wonder if they might be pregnant. Then, at weeks 6-8, when most women are beginning to check out whether or not they are pregnant, doctors can detect brain waves from the baby? Did you know that the criteria under Roe v. Wade was detection of a heart beat and viability of life outside of the womb? Well, medical technology has advanced to the point that life can be maintained in the first trimester of the pregnancy outside of the womb. If Roe v. Wade was being judged today, for the first time, they couldn't make the decision to have abortions under the same criteria as they originally used. Think about it.
Look at the big picture.

I have not as I was able to bear my own children, but I
know other nice couples who cannot have children of their
own, but would love to adopt a baby to love. One should not
look at the situation as you have "there are so many kids in
foster homes". Would you then also be for killing the elderly
as "there are so many sickly older people in nursing homes"?
Answer me this one. You're the one that needs to look at the
"big picture". It's just wrong to kill the unborn that are so sweet
and innocent. Hope this look at life changes your mind on
abortion and how horrible it is.....do you also think it is okay to
do a partial birth abortion where they bring out the head of the
baby and stab it in the neck so it dies before it can breathe????

I am not totally against abortion. Everyone has to deal with their own mistakes their own way. I am however against people having sex and pretending not to know the consequences. I do not agree with using abortion as birth control either. As for all those children out there, well there needs to be a law for parents. If they can't raise their children in a productive and possitive manner, then they should have to pay for that. It's not fair to us parents who are trying so hard to make sureour children become prospective adults. I understand there are many reasons for children being in foster care. Parents doing drugs, children who are out of control, etc. Abortion is just and easy way out. We need to do something about that to make it possible for everyone to raise the children they bring into this world as respectful citizens. Thank you.

Actually I have taken 3 unwanted children in my home. I have raised them as I did my own. I have loved and cherished them, and they are as much a part of me as biological children. You are right....there are to many children in foster care. I wish more people would understand how important it is to take up the slack of those who abandon/abuse.

Oh this question pissed me off If a girl wants to go around and hump everything that stands at attention when she shows off, then why shouldnt she face truth and responsibility? Why the hell does somebody innocent that cannot speak for herself of himself have to get thrown away like some garbage? In cases of rape i still think women should carry the child because it is A life that lives within her...it is a living breathing entity! Foster homes? Yes thats so true but we still need to face the morality of it all. Are we God? Hell no we arent! God can only take life. I think thats sickening how you attempt to justify this http://www.jonsplace.org/rel/abortion_pics/pic_6.jpg or thishttp://www.hyscience.com/photos/abortion10_weeks.jpg Justify that!!!!!!!!

I am not anti abortion I would just not have one myself, an abortion is a very personal thing and what is right for one person may not be for another, there are lots of different reasons for and against I like to stay on mutual ground on this issue.

There are lists of people that want to adopt. Friends of mine adopted a little girl and it cost them 25 thousand dollars. The Govt makes it difficult to adopt.

You go out and have sex before marriage and get pregnant and then want to kill the baby because you are irresponsible.. Killing babies in the womb is still killing babies, however you justify this atrocity it is still wrong..

I am anti-abortion, but I am also pro-choice. This is not a black-or-white issue, this also has to do about personal freedoms, which includes freedom of religion, or lack thereof.

This issue has been highly politized, and that's a shame.

I think everyone can agree that abortion is a terrible, terrible thing.
