Any suggestions for decorations, party favors...it will be in August, 2007. I have to have time to plan. There will be about 200 people.

How about a real outstanding entrance?

We will probably be renting a tent and it will be outside.

Just have them dress alike and do a dance routine off of a cd playing in the background. I think Ciara and I can't think of the other lil chic's name that is doing an updated version of Janet Jackson's Control...are pretty nice songs. That have alot of nice moves and not so booty booty like alot of the other hip hop dances/songs today. Good luck. Whew that's alot of people...should have it on MY SWEET SIXTEEN..Mtv

Sounds like you go a little cash to play with here, so money isn't an issue. So why not go with an 'old school hip-hop rap' theme with break dancers and DJ's. Get old records at your local thrift store and decorate with them. Rent or buy a couple punch fountains and an ice sculpture of a big 16. Have a time for karaoke/open mic where the kids can display their talents! Have tons of balloons & streamers, maybe a small fireworks display at the end. Sounds like fun! Wish I was invited!

Get a metal detector for the enterance. Make sure you notify the police. Place a sign at the front door NO Tanks/Wifebeaters, NO Baggy Pants, NO Backwards Caps, etc.

Seriously though, just make sure and get a good DJ if possible. Make sure he's spinning the newest hits. If you prefer them be curse free then ask the DJ if he has curse free music.

Maybe for the enterance you can put up posters of rappers or hip hop artist like Usher, Neyo, and Beyonce? Also, a velvet rope would be sweet! Make it feel like the front door of a popular club.

I would recommend a DJ that plays Christina Aguilera's "Dirrrrty" upon entrance.

GO nuts! She's 16 only once you know.
