I've got an idea! Why not buy he something she'd really be interested in having, instead of some stupid gift certificate that takes all the fun out of things? I mean, if you were really to be honest about it anyways if you were considering giving her a gift certificate -I'm certain you are not actually, if not you wouldn't be wondering what to get her- you'd just give her money and be done with it.

For my oldest daughters 16th birthday I bought her a hope chest. As she got older & started getting things for her own place she put it in the chest. She said that was the best thing she got for her 16th. It's an antique & I refinished it before giving it to her. I'll be doing the same thing for my other daughter too when she gets that age.

I hope your daugter isn't a material girl, we see them a lot these days and it's really shocking!! if she's not that kind, or if you know your daughter more than that, you'll know that what counts is what comes from the heart! unless she really wants something, then ask her! my friends gave me a box of cereal with comments written over it and inside it a dvd from my favorite band's concert! that gift was priceless to me...

i loved getting gift cards from diff stores. just make sure they're in style (like american eagle, abercrombie, gap, old navy, express, hollister, etc) but that way she can choose her own clothes/accesserries and u dont have to worry :)
